Resilience can be seen as a deep well of resources that resides in each of us. It's more than just bouncing back, it’s about reaching our personal or professional goals with the minimum unnecessary difficulty, whether it’s physical, emotional, spiritual or physiological.
There are many things that can deplete resilience. Our life circumstances, not learning how to deal with problems and being inflexible in how we deal with them, not learning how to work with our own thought processes and not investing in the relationships that support us during hard times.
